    Dynamic new directions for sport

DallowBoss has been working with the Hawke’s Bay Regional Sports Park Trust to develop a strategic master plan, integrating wayfinding elements and sponsorship signage throughout the Trust’s full 30ha site in Hastings.

The first sporting venue to be completed was the Athletics Track and Grandstand – sporting dynamic bright blue directional signage that utilises the architectural detailing. We continue to work with the Trust in developing elements within the master plan such as the Netball Centre and major arrival features, in keeping with the Trust’s development timeline and budget.

Paint is the way to go

The architectural language of the grandstand is one of exposed, precast concrete and asymmetric angles. Early in the project we identified that attaching fabricated signage would be detrimental to this language, so painted graphics which utilise the angular and linear detailing were proposed. The result is a set of graphics that wrap onto columns and sit within the detailing of the building.
