  • The Dunedin Centre wayfinding

    Project Details

    Refurbishing three old favourites

Three of New Zealand’s most significant heritage buildings owned by Dunedin City Council – The Dunedin Town Hall, The Glenroy Theatre and The Municipal Chambers – have undergone a total refurbishment and now, physically linked, operate as The Dunedin Centre.

Developed as distinct ‘intrusions’ into the heritage spaces, a key aim of the wayfinding elements was to convey the new inter-connectivity and mixed-use spaces of the three newly linked venues. The use of exploded floor plans at key locations gives visitors a wider orientation of the three venues, while directional signage colour coded to the three venues provides immediate directions to primary destinations.

DallowBoss led the strategy and design process and collaborated with Programmed Property Services who produced and installed The Centre’s wayfinding and signage elements using their Ecore signage system.

Programmed NZ depends on DallowBoss to provide world-class wayfinding strategy and design expertise on the signage projects we deliver. They have always added significant value and direction to our collaboration while approaching the wayfinding issues with in-depth consideration and stunning designs.
